Holcombe Distilling was established in 2015 with the aim to create a family-owned independent distillery that creates high quality gins, and pushes the gin flavour boundaries. It all started when we bought a farm in the small Victorian town of Barfold, located 15 minutes outside of Kyneton. It’s beautiful grazing country with rolling hills, close to a sealed road and an exciting event space currently under construction.
The region is home to some of Victoria’s best food and wine, and we are proud to be part of this community that is passionate about the things they create. Our gin, and all of our production, is hand-batch distilled and non-chill filtered - because we believe that taste is everything!
Our gin has been honored with both Gold and Silver medals at the Australian Gin Awards. This annual event is renowned for celebrating the finest gin producers from Australia and beyond, bringing together industry experts, enthusiasts, and distillers to recognise excellence and innovation in gin production.

The awards feature a diverse panel of judges, each bringing unique insights and expertise to the table. Every entry is rigorously evaluated through nosing, blind tasting, and comprehensive deliberation.
The quality and complexity of gins submitted to the competition have reached new heights each year, and this year was no exception. Our gin stood out among entries that demonstrated remarkable talent and innovation across all categories, including Classic, Contemporary, Old Tom, Matured, Over Proof, Flavoured, and Liqueurs with a gin base.
After meticulous assessment and scoring, our gin emerged as a standout, earning top honors in its class.
The process culminates in a round table discussion and tasting of the seven best in class to determine the 'Best in Show.' This final decision is a testament to the exceptional quality of gins at this stage, and we are proud that our gin has been recognized among the very best.
